“Faith and Mercy” - Luke 8:22-56

Luke attaches four stories of Jesus’ miraculous power to His previous teachings on hearing God’s word and acting on what is heard. Luke uses these four miracles to fulfill the purpose of his Gospel by providing certitude that Jesus is Messiah to the sometimes wobbly belief of the God-lover (cf. Luke 1:4).
