Where Do You Stand? - Luke 23:26-56

November 7, 2009

Luke’s historical investigation of Jesus Christ continues a graphic account of what the Lord’s Supper represents. This section considers the events following Jesus’ torture by the religious leaders and Roman authorities, the Jewish leaders’ false accusations, Pilate’s judgment, and Jesus’ handing over to the Roman soldiers for crucifixion. The prophecies in the previous chapters about the Messiah’s torture, crucifixion, and resurrection were now unfolding as truth. In recounting Christ’s passion story, Luke fulfilled his ultimate purpose of steadying the sometimes wobbly faith of God-lovers in the face of their witness, persecution, and perhaps martyrdom (cf. Luke 1:4).

Great reflection! I was

Great reflection!
I was thinking that different time lead to "different standing". But the foundation, I believe, is standing for obedience, intimacy with God, love. In my heart, all I want is to do the will of God, but I need His help, always.
