Servicing Debt - Luke 12:49-59

Christ’s foundational teaching moves beyond persecution, kingdom values, God’s meeting of human needs, and the disciples’ ultimate business. He reveals His passion, death, and divisive message prior to His second coming. These are all part of the story attached to last week’s notion of Kingdom investment and call for His disciples to hope with utter readiness for His return. Today’s account remains in keeping with Luke’s purpose to steady the wobbly faith of ‘God lovers’ as they endure rejection of even close family because of their life investment in Kingdom ends.
